Veterans of War face many challenges both now and in the future

Our charity was set up to help and support veterans of war who have served in the British Armed Services, of all ages and from all theatres of war. We help with the everyday practicalities of living with a disability sustained in warfare and helping them to cope with day to day living as a result of their injuries. Our charity also supports those who may have fallen on harder times since leaving the Services.

Helping and supporting veterans of war means listening to their unique needs. For many, a small helping hand can mean a big difference to their quality of life. Some younger veterans from recent conflicts prefer help in their own community rather than the added trauma of being away from family and friends. Older veterans from other conflicts often need help with household matters or the finance, e.g. for a new radio or clothing. VoW gives practical help and offers the opportunity for veterans to receive expert care or equipment in their own home or workplace, to help them remain in their own communities. Whatever the age or requirement, VoW can help enhance the quality of life of veterans today.

One of our key challenges is the current economic climate, in which charity of course begins at home. However, by running fun events to raise funds, we hope to make helping others easy, rewarding and enjoyable. No request is too small and we endeavour to respond to all requests efficiently, so that veterans receive much needed assistance as quickly as possible. This requires us to be nimble - assessing requests in a timely manner, having funds available and providing assistance promptly.

We can do this all the more efficiently and effectively with YOUR help - in fact, it is difficult to do it without you.
